Oskar Benjamin Klein, född år 1894 i Stockholm, var en stor internationellt känd fysiker som för det mesta jobbade som professor i teoretisk fysik vid Stockholms högskola fr.o.m. år 1930 och jobbade kvar där fram tills år 1962 då han gick i pension.
Klein hade tidigare jobbat med Niels Bohr i Danmark och även flyttat till USA med sin fru då han fick en professur på ett universitet där. Därefter återvände han till Danmark och kort därefter till Sverige och började jobba som professor vid Stockholms högskola. Han blev invald till Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien år 1945 och blev emeritus (veteran) år 1962.
Hans far, Gottlieb Klein, var rabbin och professor och hans mor hette Antonie (Toni) Levy. År 1923 gifte han sig med danskan Gerda Agnete Koch (1902-1983).
Bland annat vidareutvecklade Klein Theodor Kaluzas teori till Kaluza-Klein-teorin, lade fram Klein-Gordon-ekvationen tillsammans med Walter Gordon och utarbetade Klein-Nishinas formel tillsammans med Yoshio Nishina.
Oskar Klein dog år 1977 i Danderyd och är begravd på Judiska norra begravningsplatsen i Solna kommun.
Oskar Klein hedras varje år genom att en framstående forskare får årets Klein-medalj och får hålla en föreläsning med stöd från Kungliga Vetenskapsakademin.
