En del av åkallan Iftitah som reciteras varje dag under den heliga månaden Ramadan:

O Gud! Jag inleder hyllandet [av Dig] med att lovprisa Dig;

ty Du, genom Din nåd, visar ständigt vägen till det som är rätt och riktigt,

och jag är övertygad om att Du, bland de barmhärtiga,

är den mest Barmhärtige när det gäller benådning och barmhärtighet,

men [samtidigt] den strängaste Bestraffaren när det gäller

avskräckande bestraffningar och vedergällningar [riktade mot syndarna]

och Du, bland de som manifesterar sin styrka,

är den Mäktigaste när det gäller storslagenhet och höghet!

O Gud! Du har givit mig tillåtelse att åkalla Dig

och framföra min begäran till Dig,

Så lyssna då, O Allhörande, på min lovsång [tillägnad Dig!]

och svara, O mest Nåderike, på min vädjan!

Samt gottgör, O mest Förlåtande, mina felsteg!
