O Gud! Jag ber Dig om beskydd,
den Dag då varken egendom eller barn gagnar [någon], förutom den som kommer till Gud med ett sunt hjärta.

Och jag ber Dig om beskydd,
den Dag då den orättfärdige biter sina händer och säger:
”Om jag ändå hade tagit en väg med Sändebudet!”

Och jag ber Dig om beskydd, den Dag då
de skyldiga känns igen på sina kännetecken,
och de grips vid pannluggarna och fötterna.

Och jag ber Dig om beskydd, den Dag då
en far inte kan gottgöra något för sin son,
inte heller är en son till gottgörelse för sin far
– Guds löfte är förvisso sanning…
